In the recent GCSE examinations, Longridge Towers School achieved just under 80 per cent of passes at grade C or above and 100 per cent pass rate overall.
Headmaster Tim Manning said: “Although the overall percentage of passes at grades A*-C was slightly down on previous years, these results were still very pleasing as a significant number of pupils in this cohort required some learning support or whose first language was not English.
“I was particularly pleased with the separate science results in biology, chemistry and physics which, along with maths, produced 90% of grades at A*-C. Another area of strength this year was in modern foreign languages, where over 90% of passes were at grades A*-C.”
He also revealed that following a successful appeal against one paper at A level, this year’s pass rate was 100%.
“We are all looking forward to welcoming a majority of these students, along with several new faces, to the sixth form this September,” he added.
