A yacht which ran aground on the Farne Islands was helped by Seahouses lifeboat crews on Thursday evening.
The yacht was left high and dry at the Bridges, at Inner Farne, around lunchtime. A local boat skipper reported the incident because he was concerned for the vessel, lying hard over on its beam.
However, the yacht skipper told Humber Coastguard that no assistance was required so RNLI crew kept a watching brief.
Later, the RNLI had concerns that the yacht would not be able to extricate itself without assistance, due to the tidal flow.
Both lifeboats left Seahouses at 8.30pm, as daylight began to fail. They towed the yacht to a safe anchorage at the Kettle. It transpired the yacht had dragged its anchor prior to grounding.
