The James IV Memorial Lecture in commemoration of the 500th anniversary of the Battle of Flodden was a huge success. The lecture, organised by the Till Valley Archaeological Society, attracted an audience of 150 to Coldstream Community Centre.
Richard Buckley of Leicester University spoke about the search for Richard III. He was the lead archaeologist on the excavation of a Leicester car park that led to the discovery of the monarch. The memorial lecture is now to become an annual event.
