Police are appealing for witnesses after a man suffered facial injuries in Berwick.
At 12.15am on Saturday, September 7, an officer at North Road in Berwick reported dealing with a man who was suffering from injuries to his face.
The 38-year-old was taken to hospital with extensive swelling and bruising. At this stage it’s believed he has been assaulted, however enquiries are ongoing to establish what has happened.
Four 17-year-old males have been arrested on suspicion of assault and they are currently in custody helping with enquiries.
Berwick Neighbourhood Inspector Dave Garrick said: “Officers are working to establish the circumstances of what happened and how this man has come about his injuries.
“I’d like to reassure people this appears to be an isolated incident and we have four people in custody who are helping with the investigation.
“I’d appeal for anyone who saw an altercation in the area, witnessed an assault take place or who has information which can help with enquiries to come forward as soon as possible.”
