Homes plan for farmstead

Plans have been submitted for the part demolition and conversion of farm buildings into four homes just outside Berwick.

Michael Guthrie Developments want to carry out the project at Camphill Farm, close to the Halidon Hill battlesite off the A6105.

The new homes would have outstanding glass fronted extensions to take in the views over Berwick and towards Holy Island and Bamburgh.

Each of the dwellings would have enclosed gardens to the south and three parking spaces to the north.

The open fronted agricultural steel framed building would be removed, therefore leaving a site for a future dwelling which would require planning consent at a future time. The chimney would be retained.

Planning permission for the development of the site was first granted in 2007 and extended in 2011. Since then roofs from the courtyard and the silo have been removed but the walls remain in dangerous condition.
