Cornhill Village Shop & Coffee Shop raised over £3,000 during Macmillan’s “World’s Biggest Coffee Morning” on Friday.
The day started with a visit from Jeremy Paxman, who called in to collect his lunch, and kindly agreed to have his photograph taken to help support the event.
As well as the usual stalls, this year’s fundraiser saw 18-year-old employee Grant Robertson endure a sponsored chest wax, raising over £650.
Manager Lynda Waite said: “The day was very well supported by locals and visitors alike and I must say a huge thank you to all the staff and the local WI and volunteers who helped out.”
Linda Hamilton from Macmillan Cancer Support and Lady Caroline Douglas-Home also attended.
Co-manager Julie Jones added: “Many, many thanks to all our customers for making the day so fantastic.”
An impressive £3,100 was raised on the day, taking the running total raised for Macmillan by Cornhill Village Shop to over £40,000.
