Berwick based writer Barbara Henderson has won a new publishing deal for her second crime novel.
Legend Press has acquired the rights to This Little Piggy, the dark story of a child murder set in 1984, against the backdrop of the miners’ strike.
The novel, written under Barbara’s pen name Bea Davenport, will be published in October.
Barbara’s debut novel, In Too Deep, was also published by Legend Press in June and raced to number three in the bestseller charts.
Lauren Parsons, commissioning editor of Legend Press, said: “We are thrilled to acquire Bea’s second novel and look forward to building her reputation within the crime fiction community.
“This Little Piggy is a gripping look at a community in turmoil and is full of secrets, tension and emotion. This book is simply unputdownable.”
Barbara’s children’s novel, The Serpent House, will also be published by Curious Fox in June.
