A yacht was helped twice in the space of 24 hours by a lifeboat crew off the north Northumberland coast.
The yacht, with three people on board, suffered engine failure eight miles south east of Seahouses on Saturday afternoon.
Seahouses all-weather lifeboat was launched just after 2pm and escorted the yacht until it reached the harbour where the sails were lowered. The yacht was moored so that repairs could be carried out.
Just after 1pm on Sunday the yacht got snagged on lobster pot topes a short distance off the harbour mouth.
Using knives and boat hooks from the lifeboat, the crew were able to assist the yacht and free the rudder and propeller from the ropes. The yacht was then able to continue its passage to Blyth via Amble.
The lifeboat continued to Beadnell for its Flag Day.
