A couple of north Northumberland wedding venues are celebrating after wrapping up top accolades.

Their date with success came at the North of England Wedding Awards for Outstanding Customer Service, held at York Racecourse.

Newton Hall beat off tough competition from a dozen other venues, including The Alnwick Garden, Eshott Hall, Kirkley Hall and the White Swan Hotel, Alnwick, to lift the premier trophy of the night – Best Wedding Venue in the North East.

Earlier in the evening, Doxford Barns took the New Wedding Business accolade.

The winners were decided partly on a public vote.

Duncan Fisher, who owns the Apartment Group, which runs Newton Hall at Newton-by the Sea, said: “We are thrilled with Newton’s continued success at wedding industry awards,” he said.

“Winning the much-sought-after award for the North East’s Best Wedding Venue is yet another great achievement by the team, as well as a testament to the outstanding levels of customer service we pride ourselves on providing to each and every couple.

“Public vote was a huge part of Newton Hall winning this prestigious prize and it simply wouldn’t have been possible without the countless testimonials and nominations from the hundreds of past brides and grooms, eager to share their love of our fantastical venue.”

Doxford Barns took the newcomer honours above four other businesses.
