On one of the hottest days of the year, Tweedmouth Middle School’s 300 pupils set out on the annual sponsored walk to raise funds for their mini bus.

The money raised is used to service and pay for fuel for the minibus throughout the year which is used for a tremendous amount of school activities.

The six mile round-trip found them taking lunch at Cocklawburn beach where many of the children took advantage of the fine weather to take a paddle.

The school would like to thank Farm to Freeze for supplying each child with a bottle of water, Carruthers Leisure of Belford for the fluorescent jackets, Pot-a-doodle-do for the use of their toilets on the way back and the gallant band of helpers and parents who came along on the day.

In particular, the school would like to thank the lady who stopped in her car as she was passing and donated £5 to the total!

If anyone would like to help boost the total you can contact the school on 01289 307480.
