Pupils of the Hugh Joicey Church of England First School saw in spring with a traditional May pole dance last Friday.
The intricate celebration took place at the First School following the crowning of the village’s May Queen.
Frances Maxwell was crowned May Queen by First School teacher Mrs Mary Barber, with Lily Warner her crown bearer.
The Shaker was Lewis McArthur and the Hobby Horse Jonte Rawlings.
The coronation took place under the village’s cherry blossom, before the pupils returned to their playground to dance the May pole in front of an audience of mums and dads.
