Trades council on march against UKIP

MT Berwick Rail Chair, Martin McCleary with his daughter Chloe and RMT General Secretary Candidate Alan Pottage lead the May Day march in Edinburgh holding the RMT Bob Crow tribute banner.

Members of RMT Berwick Rail, Berwick and District Trades Council and Berwick People’s Assembly travelled to Edinburgh on Saturday for the annual May Day march.

Over 500 activists, including RMT Berwick Rail Chair, Martin McCleary and his daughter Chloe, pictured above, marched under the slogan ‘Welfare not warfare’.

This Saturday, May 10 also sees Berwick and District Trades Union Council holding an Anti-UKIP leafletting in Berwick town centre. Those who wish to participate should assemble at Berwick Town Hall at 10.30am.

RMT chair Martin McCleary said: “This event will be highlighting to people exactly what UKIP stand for and let people know the truth behind their policies.”
