Northumberland County Council is encouraging people to join their local library this month.

A library card gives access to books, ebooks, resources and events for toddlers, teens and adults - and it’s free!

Libraries are also a great place to meet like-minded people – whether you’re interested in family and local history, crafts or meeting authors.

Councillor Val Tyler, policy board member for community infrastructure and culture, said: ““Our libraries in Northumberland have so much more on offer than books and we want to share that with as many people as possible.

“It’s free to become a member and quick and easy to join so why not give it a go. You will be really surprised at what you find.”
