Berwick’s Mohr Language School, set up to help children with English as a second language, is set to suspend its Saturday Polish School after five years, due to the low numbers of children attending,
Diane Wright, Chair of Mohr
Language Support, announced the suspension at a Mohr Language School Open Day on April 5. Towards the end of the day, children aged between five and 13 added the finishing touches to the traditional effigy of the Polish Winter Witch, Marzanna, which was made of ecologically friendly materials as she was to be later drowned in the river Tweed. Staff are ready to restart the Saturday school, in new premises, when attendance numbers make it feasible in the future.
