The remodelled project plan for the Landscape Partnership Peregrini Lindisfarne was submitted to the Heritage Lottery Fund towards the end of June. A decision on the remodelled plan is due to be received by the beginning of October.
Sufficient match funding is now in place for the first two years of the project, and the overall size of the remodelled project is £1.4m.
Paul Collins, Peregrini board member, said: “The shape remains much as was originally conceived and discussed. Works to the pier are due to be begun and completed during 2015.”
All this has been made possible by the hard work of Carol and Frank Robinson, consultants engaged for project by Northumberland County Council, to whom the Peregrini board members are immensely grateful.
A hardcopy of the new scheme document will be available soon in the Lindisfarne Centre for members of the island community and general public to read.
