Plans to put a Berwick Civic Society information board on the side wall of a listed building on Bridge Street are expected to get the green light.
The application by Gavin Jones, owner of Jones & Jones, will be heard by Northumberland County Council’s north area planning committee on August 7 because he is a county councillor.
The proposed vinyl board would display historical information about Bridge Street and be similar in style to other civic society boards.
Conservation officer Annette Reeves said: “This is an acceptable location, being at the entrance to the car park and within an area of public realm that is now a gap site.”
Planning officer Ros Duncan added: “It is considered the development would not detract from the special architectural and historic interest of the building.”
There were no objections to the application by Berwick Town Council.
