Long-awaited plans for the redevelopment of the former Kwik Save site in Berwick are set to be unveiled to the public.
The plans for the Walkergate site, regarded as one of the town’s biggest eyesores, will be on display at an open day on Thursday, August 14 from 2pm–7pm at Berwick Workspace.
Members of the community and stakeholders are invited to view and discuss the proposed office development.
Representatives of Arch, the Northumberland Development Company and its consultant team will be available to answer any questions. There will also be opportunities to feedback comments and views on the initial proposals.
Peter McIntyre, Arch Group managing director said: “The tradition of Berwick and its buildings is important and where we can seek to complement its architecture and history, we should.
“We would like to see this central Berwick site back in use and contributing to the regeneration of the town’s economy”.
The derelict ex-Kwik Save site and the historic Cowe buildings are the current focus of Arch’s work in Berwick.
