Maurice and Ruth McNeely of the Old Vicarage Guesthouse in Tweedmouth were delighted to host Dr Ian Sesnan who visited for the opening of the Lowry exhibition. Dr Sesnan won a competition run by East Coast Trains for VIP tickets to the opening, a night’s free B&B and mementos of the Lowry connection with Berwick.

Ian enjoyed his visit and promised to return in the future. He also said that the Lowry exhibition was exceptionally good partly because of the venue but also because one can then go and see the subjects in real life around the town. He thought it would attract a lot of new people to visit Berwick and he would encourage people to make the trip. Dr Sesnan is chairman of the Wensleydale Railway Trust.
