There have been no instances of crime or anti social behaviour reported to police in Seahouses in the last month, PC Alan Morton told April’s meeting of North Sunderland Parish Council.
“Whether that’s down to the patrolling or the weather, who knows, but we’d like to put it down to the patrolling, because we’ve been out on foot and in cars,” he added.
He also told councillors that five pubs in Seahouses and two in Beadnell had signed up to the successful and informative pub watch scheme, which is run by the publicans in the area. Only one pub in the village had not signed up to the scheme.
PC Morton said: “This is a good scheme supported by the police which tends to stop fights.”
