A new scheme giving affordable housing information is to be launched in Glendale.

Information will be available in a number of locations throughout Glendale and on the Glendale community website

The scheme is set to launch at a surgery event on Thursday, June 19 from 2pm-6pm at the Cheviot Centre in Wooler.

Interested local residents are invited to attend the surgery where there will be a chance to meet with local housing providers and discuss affordable housing.

Help will also be on hand to explain how to register with the Northumberland Homefinder scheme as well as hear more about how the new scheme will be rolled out throughout the area.

There will also be an opportunity for people to give their e-mail contacts if they wish to receive weekly property availability updates.

A noticeboard has been set up at the Cheviot Centre which displays affordable housing information, including key provider contacts, how to register with these providers and currently available properties.

The properties list will be updated on a weekly basis – giving local residents a much clearer picture of what affordable housing may be available within Glendale.

Similar information will be available on parish council noticeboards throughout the Glendale area; this will also be refreshed on a weekly basis.

The new scheme is a partnership between a number of housing providers, Northumberland Homefinder, Northumberland County Council, Glendale Gateway Trust and a number of Parish Councils within Glendale.
