Northumberland residents can pursue their ambitions, make new friends and learn fresh skills by signing up for the new adult learning courses beginning this autumn.
The Northumberland County Council’s Adult Learning Service offers a wide variety of both full and part time courses from vocational and academic qualifications to learning new hobbies or skills. With many new courses and activities added to this year’s prospectus, there is a qualification or informal learning classes for everyone.
New qualifications include a Diploma in Professional Cookery and Access to Higher Education Diplomas, and even GCSE’s or Certificates in Dry Stone Walling. There are new programmes for farmers looking for IT experience to help their business, as well as courses for those wanting to get up to speed with skills for the digital age.
For Northumberland residents wanting to pursue learning for leisure and pleasure, there are plenty of chances with new courses in learning Japanese, gardening or exploring their creative side with courses in writing and illustrating children’s books or learning photography.
The courses take place throughout Northumberland from Berwick to Hexham and Bellingham to Blyth.
The prospectus is now available in the adult learning section of the Northumberland County Council website by visiting www.northumberland.gov.uk. The prospectuses will also go out to all households in Northumberland from today.
Enrolment for the autumn courses is now open.
