Berwick MP Sir Alan Beith recently visited the British Heart Foundation (BHF) shop on Marygate.

Sir Alan met the shop staff and volunteers and spent time in the shop to learn more about what the BHF is doing in the local community.

He said: “I was very pleased to call in and meet the dedicated members of staff and volunteers that work at the Berwick BHF shop. The BHF is such a fantastic cause and the work they do is vital in the fight against heart disease.”

Every penny of profit raised in the BHF shop funds vital, life-saving research into heart disease.

The Berwick BHF shop is always looking for volunteers and stock donations – just pop in to find out more or drop your unwanted items off.

“I urge local residents to have a rummage around at home and donate any unwanted items to the shop or give the gift of time by volunteering,” said Sir Alan.

Carol Mitchell, BHF regional manager, said: “We’re really grateful to Sir Alan for coming in, visiting our shop and meeting the team.”
