Berwick MP Sir Alan Beith will start his annual surgery tour on Monday, July 28.
Sir Alan’s surgery tour sees him travel over 1,000 miles to visit over 120 villages and hamlets across the Berwick-upon-Tweed Constituency. Sir Alan meets hundreds of people every year when he visits our rural and sometimes remote villages to ensure that every constituent gets a chance to speak to him in person.
Sir Alan said: “When you represent such a big, rural constituency it can be very difficult to find out about specific issues in specific areas. That is why my annual tour is so important. It gives me a chance to visit areas where I do not hold a surgery during the year, and speak to local residents about issues affecting their local area.
“These village surgeries are a vital part of keeping in touch with local people.”
On Monday 28 July Sir Alan will be calling at: Wark, Carham, Pressenhill, Mindrum Mill, Howtel, Kilham, Hethpool, Westnewton, Kirknewton, Milfield, Crookham, Branxton, Cornhill and Donaldson’s Lodge.
On Tuesday 29 July he will be calling at: Scremerston, Ancroft, Holy Island, Beal, Fenwick, Lowick, Bowsden, Ford, Etal, Duddo, Shoresdean, Norham, Horncliffe and East Ord.
On Wednesday 30 July he will be calling at: Hampeth, Newton on the Moor, Swarland, Felton, West Thirston, Eshott, Tritlington, Longhorsley, Longframlington, The Lee (Embleton Terrace), Wingates and Rothbury.
Surgery details are also announced on posters in each village that Sir Alan will visit this summer. All details of Sir Alan Beith’s surgery tour can be found online at www.AlanBeith.org.uk or call the Constituency office on 01665 602901 for details.
