A Lowick hotel is planning an expansion to cater for increased demand since being upgraded.
An application has been lodged for a new side extension to The White Swan to provide two bedrooms with en-suite facilities.
They would be accessed from a separate entrance door on the front elevation and into a communal lobby.
The existing lean-to side store has fallen into disrepair and will be removed as part of the proposal to make way for the new extension. The front footprint of the lean to will be used and extended to the rear to fall in line with the existing rear flat roof structure.
A report to planners states: “The proposal will be used in conjunction with the existing facilities provided by the establishment who are seeking to provide guest room accommodation of which demand has increased over the years.
“The current hotel facilities have been upgraded which has in turn created an additional demand due to positive reviews by patrons.
“The proposal therefore aims to meet that demand whilst providing additional guest who will in turn use the hotel facilities for eating and drinking.
“This will have a knock on effect of producing additional income and business as well as create part time employment.”
