Four Housing is offering a free microchipping and health check service for dogs to its customers in Berwick.
The not-for-profit housing provider has teamed up with dog welfare charity Dogs Trust, and will be offering the service at the Swan Centre in Tweedmouth on February 19, from 11am-3pm.
From April 6 2016, all dog owners in England will have to microchip their animal under plans intended to cut a rise in strays. The microchip is coded with the owner’s details, meaning they are identifiable if lost or stolen.
Four Housing operations manager Bernie Hogg said: “We are pleased to be able to work with the Dogs Trust to improve the safety of dogs in our communities and urge all of our customers with dogs to take advantage of this service.”
