Northumberland Libraries are reminding residents that homework help is on hand for children going back to school.
As well as books, the libraries have free online resources that are available to use at home 24 hours a day.
Britannica Online encyclopaedias have versions for five to 11-year-olds and 11 to 18s which can be searched online, helping with religion, science, history and sport. The resource is free to use and can be accessed at home as well as in the library.
Councillor Val Tyler, policy board member responsible for community infrastructure and culture said: “These resources are fantastic for children, young people and parents who maybe need that extra guidance and support when it comes to school studies. The librarians will give each child as much help as they can. It’s another great benefit of being a library member.”
Members can use these resources at home or in the library for free; all they need is their library card number.
It’s free to join your local library so why not do it today. Visit the library website www.mylibrary.co.uk to find out about all the resources available to library members and to join online.
