New plants are springing up in Castle Vale and Coronation Park on either side of Berwick railway station thanks to the efforts of local volunteers and parks manager Kate Morison (pictured).

It is all part of the near-£1 million Berwick Parks Project which is nearing completion.

Improved features including footpaths, steps, handrails, horticultural displays, entrances and signage in each of the parks. An official opening is planned in July.

Meanwhile, Kate is doing a Dawn Chorus walk in the parks on Saturday, May 10 at 6.30am. Meet at the railway station. This is part of a national birdsong event.
