Community groups are being offered funding to help deliver projects through the Community Chest Scheme run by Northumberland County Council.
The scheme supports activities that benefit local communities and is open to any voluntary, community, not-for-profit group or organisation based in, or predominantly serving Northumberland.
The money can be used for a range of purposes including events, or for the purchase of equipment. Grants of up to £10,000 are available, average grants are between £2,500-£3,500. The fund will support one-off initiatives, with priority given to projects submitted by small community groups.
This year there is a new funding criteria in place. There will be three funding rounds, the deadline for the first round of applications is May 9.
