Berwick Garden Centre would like to thank all the customers who donated and helped to raise £433.38 for the Great North Air Ambulance Service.

Manager Lynda Murray, presenting a cheque to GNAAS volunteer Nigel Sumerling, said: “We are really pleased to have raised this amount and for such a worthy cause, I would like to thank the staff and customers for their donations.”

On a personal note, a few years ago Lynda herself had an accident near Ford bridge where the air ambulance was called out, she said the service she received was excellent and response time very quick.

Mandy Drake from the Great North Air Ambulance Service said, “The Great North Air Ambulance Service flies hundreds of missions every year, and everything is paid for by members of the public through their generous donations. The kind of support demonstrated by Berwick Garden Centre is vital in keeping the air ambulance flying and we would like to thank all staff and customers for helping out.”

The garden centre continues to raise money for the service with collecting tins at each of the tills, so please donate any spare change to continue saving local lives.
