Striking paintings exploring the lower Tweed river systems are set to be auctioned to raise funds for HospiceCare North Northumberland.
The latest collection of work by Fenham-based artist John Fieldhouse will be auctioned on Saturday (April 25), following an exclusive two-day preview at The Lady Waterford Hall in Ford Village.
Wooler auctioneer Jim Railton, who helped the sale of John’s last catalogue raise almost £17,000 for HospiceCare three years ago, will kindly be donating his time again.
It is hoped that the stunning new work will prove every bit as popular and successful and help the charity, which provides personalised care and support for patients, carers and families.
Julie Frost of HospiceCare North Northumberland said: “We are delighted to report that in addition to setting reserve prices at an attractive level, John has kindly agreed to donate 50 per cent of the sale’s profits of each work to HospiceCare North Northumberland.
“So besides the opportunity to acquire one of John’s highly collectable works at an attractive price, bidders will also be helping the hospice.”
The latest collection is further development of John’s fascination with landscapes, containing water and movement and their juxtaposition with light.
Many familiar with John’s work are aware of his love of the Northumbrian coast; the new works consolidate the artist’s exploration of the lower Tweed River system which has provided him with further inspiration and resulted in arguably some of his most exciting work for many years.
The lots will feature a range of pictures of all sizes to suit different homes and settings.
The original paintings will be available to view tomorrow (Friday, April 25) and Saturday, April 26. John will attend the free exhibition on both days to discuss his pictures with any interested visitors.
The auction will commence at 7pm on Saturday, following a formal preview and drinks reception from 6-7pm.
If you are unable to attend but would like to bid on one or more pictures then please call Julie Frost or Claire Price on: 01665 606515. Alternatively please email full details and your maximum bid to email@example.com
