Berwick Community Choir presented the cheque to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal on Monday night.

The money came from part of the total raised at the choir’s annual Christmas concert ‘Mince Pies and Music’ . “We decided to do this as one of members who died last year, Elise Fraser, was part of the poppy appeal in the town for over 40 years,” said Judith after presenting the cheque. The choir’s next concert will be at the Watchtower in Tweedmouth on June 27 in aid of Leukaemia and Lymphoma research. Berwick Community Choir is open to anyone and meets in the Pavilion (Scout Hall) in Palace Green on a Monday night at 7.30pm, or they can phone 01289 303218
