A beautiful red poppy meadow has been planted at Mindrum Gardens to commemorate the fallen of two world wars. It will be one of the attractions at an open day on Saturday, July 5 hosted by the Royal British Legion (RBL) and British Red Cross.

True to their military heritage, members of the RBL are putting up tracker markers on all routes running into the Mindrum area, ensuring that no one gets lost.

The Crookham branch of the RBL will hold a short commemoration service at 3pm by the poppy meadow. There will also be a chance to see First World War photographs of the area. There will be refreshments and stalls selling crafts. Open from 2pm - 5pm, entry is £4 for adults and £2 for children. Under fives are free.
