Berwick Infirmary has the best hospital food in Northumbria Healthcare Trust, a survey has revealed.

The patient-led questionnaire was compiled in conjunction with mandatory food standards being launched in the NHS for the first time.
The aim of this is to provide a better service for both staff and patients.
Patients will be given a food plan that fits to their individual needs to ensure that everyone is getting the right balance of nutrients to aid a good recovery.
As part of the new scheme, fresh fruit and tap water must be readily available to patients and fish served twice a week.
