Berwick Detachment, Northumbria Army Cadet Force, has recognised the people who have helped them raise almost £25,000 for forces charities over the last five years with a special event in the Drill Hall.

The Berwick Detachment recently held a thank you evening in the Drill Hall for people who have supported them on Armed Forces Day over the last four years.

During the evening, 2Lt Jerdan thanked a number of people who help to ensure that the Armed Forces Day activities continue to grow in strength each year.

Fundraising on Armed Forces Day and on the following weekend at the ASDA/H4H annual event, the army cadets raised almost £1600 for service charities.

Cheque presentations were made on the night to representatives of BLESMA, SSAFA, The Army Benevolent Fund, The Royal British Legion, Combat Stress and Help For Heroes.

This latest round of fundraising has brought the total raised by Berwick’s Army Cadets to over £24,000 over the last five years.
