Berwick Detachment, Northumbria Army Cadet Force were recently guests of the Lord Lieutenants of Northumberland, Durham and Tyne and Wear at an evening to celebrate the achievement of young people who fundraise on behalf of the Royal British Legion.

During the two week collection period in 2013 the detachment raised over £2,900 for the Legion’s Poppy Appeal.

Detachment Commander, Lt Debra Jerdan, praised the cadets and adults for their continued commitment to service charities, and would like to thank everyone who supports them whilst they undertake these activities.

The detachment is currently recruiting and welcomes young people aged 12-18 who would like to take part in a wide range of activities and challenges.

Opportunities are also available for adults who may wish to join the detachment as instructors. For more details pop in to one of the parade nights in the Drill Hall (Tuesday and Thursday 7-9pm).
