Author and illustrator Mick Manning and Brita Granström will be introducing their picture fact book about The Beatles at Berwick Library on Saturday from 1pm-2pm.
The husband and wife team will be at the library for this fun packed family event which will offer something for everyone including children who think that One Direction is the only boy band in the world!
There will be a quiz and illustrations as the pair talk through the story of how the 60s band influenced a generation. Their book will also be available for purchase and signing.
The Beatles book is aimed at both the younger generation, for whom the band are a part of pop history, and also older fans who want to know more about the group and their story.
“For the new generation we have had to explain things like what records were and how they were made from plastic with grooves,” said Brita.
“We have also explained what record shops were and how young people dressed like their parents as before the Sixties there were no fashion shops for young people.”
Northumberland County Councillor Val Tyler, policy board member for community infrastructure and culture said: “It is fantastic that we have such well known authors right here on our doorstep in Northumberland.
“Their sessions at our libraries are always very popular and entertaining and we look forward to welcoming Brita and Mick who will be joining us at the library, fresh from an exciting promotional tour of the USA.”
There is no cost but please ring Berwick Library on 01289 334051 to book a place.
