Dozens of visitors descended on Norham on Sunday to see wheelbarrow displays put on by villagers.
Anne Middleditch won the prize for best display.
Judges said she had put a huge amount of effort into its construction and it was absolutely delightful.
Residents were invited to park a wheelbarrow outside their home and decorate it, fill it with flowers, use it as a stall or do whatever they thought would raise a smile.
Garage sale committee member Mary-Rose Blythe said: “We had over 40 wheelbarrows and they attracted a lot of people into the village so the day was deemed to be a great success. The money raised from the teas will help towards the kitchen improvements in the village hall.”
