Woodshack delivery aims to beat winter heating costs

AN AWARD-WINNING Cornhill entrepreneur has come up with a way for people to beat rising fuel prices this winter.

Mark Woodcock has launched The Woodshack, a new way of delivering sustainable kiln-dried logs in their own wooden store, which means there is less mess, and no need for chopping. This makes wood burning a much cheaper and easier way of home heating.

Kiln-dried hardwood is more economical, and gives out more heat than other woods. With the continuing rise of oil and gas prices, more and more people are turning to wood burning stoves as a cheaper alternative to heating their home.

Woodshack is the latest scheme to heat homes in north Northumberland, including Oil CAN, a community oil buying project.

In 2008, Mark Woodcock set up his award-winning recycling company, Woodcock Recycling, which initially began when a local joinery specialist asked him to dispose of their wood off-cuts.
