Training courses to help with age related deafblindness

STATISTICS show that Northumberland people are living for longer than at any time in our past but there is a hidden condition known as age related deafblindness which can badly affect the quality of life older people

With the support of The Big Lottery Fund and The Daily Mail, Scene Enterprises, a voluntary organisation that specialises in deafblind awareness, communication tactics and safe guiding are offering people living in Berwick the opportunity to attend a two day training course on Tuesday and Wednesday, February 19-20 where you will be given the skills to ensure that should this awful condition affect you, a loved one, neighbour or friend, you will be able to make a difference.

Participants will achieve an accredited qualification, but more importantly will be given a personal awareness of deafblindness and the practical skills to be able to communicate and remain independent should they themselves become deafblind and the ability to be able to help older family, friends and neighbours to communicate, get around and about safely and regain a level of independence they thought was lost.
