Tourism fair set for sell out attendance
ACCOMMODATION providers in the area are being invited to attend next week’s Tourism Fair at Alnwick.
The Alnwick Tourism Fair will take place on Tuesday, March 12 at Willowburn Sports and Leisure Centre serving, north Northumberland and the borders.
Event organiser Philip Angier of Local Living said: “We are expecting well over 100 exhibitors at Alnwick.
“The Tourism Fairs are a ‘don’t miss’ date in the calendar for accommodation providers to collect information about local attractions for their guests.
“And they are also a great way for local people to find out about festivals and events in 2013 and family days out.”
Jeff Sutheran of North Northumberland Tourism Association added: “The Tourism Fairs mark the beginning of a new season for many of our members.
“In a challenging economic environment it is essential that we make the most of the natural assets and the wide variety of attractions and events that make Northumberland such a memorable tourist destination.
“The Tourism Fairs are a great opportunity to showcase that variety.”
Northumberland Tourism chair Kate Priestley said the event served to re-emphasize why Northumberland was ranked the third most loved domestic holiday destination.
Hospitality providers from around the county and the borders will be welcomed at the event, which will take place from 10am to 3pm.
Members of the public are also welcome. Refreshments will be available throughout the day and admission is free.
