Seahouses toilets shut due to vandalism

VANDALS caused extensive damage to the main public toilets in Seahouses on Tuesday night, forcing their closure until repairs can be carried out.

The toilets, situated at the entrance to the Seafield car park in the centre of the town, suffered considerable damage caused to all three blocks, including to cubicle doors.

New doors have been ordered by Northumberland County Council and repairs will be carried out as soon as possible but the facility had to be closed in the meantime.

A council spokesman estimated that the earliest any of the blocks would be reopened would be Tuesday.
