Rescued dog finally gets a home
Dog has found a new home in time Christmas following a sea rescue by the RNLI
JACK is one very lucky dog. Three and a half years since he was plucked from the River Tweed by a lifeboat crew he now has a home for Christmas.
It was back in June 2008 that Berwick lifeboat were alerted to a barking noise coming from the Tweed Dock.
Former Berwick RNLI crew member Billy Johnson, a parking attendant at the dock, after many attempts to rescue the dog decided to call for the assistance of the inshore lifeboat.
The dog was very cold and frightened but otherwise unharmed. However, no-one came forward to claim the dog so he was put in the hands of Berwick Animal Rescue Kennels (BARK).
After several attempts to find a suitable home for the dog because of his bad temper, he has been back and forward to BARK. Now he has, for the last six months, found a loving home with Michael Adams.
Michael recently came to Berwick lifeboat station to show coxswain Robert Frost, who was helmsman the night of the rescue, just how well Jack is doing.
Michael said: “When I saw the dog advertised on the BARK web site and then went to see him it was love at first sight.”
