Inspector warns those committing criminal damage
BERWICK’s Neighbourhood Inspector is warning vandals that he will seek the maximum punishment for their crimes, after deliberate damage was caused to another parked car.
The bodywork was scratched on a car parked in a driveway on Cuthberts Road, Berwick, sometime between 4.30pm on Wednesday, January 16 and 2.30pm on Thursday, January 17.
Inspector Davey Garrick said: “I will make every effort to seek the maximum punishment possible for anybody proven to have committed criminal damage.”
He added: “Criminal damage is not a crime from which the perpetrator makes any material gain. I do not understand what motive any person has for causing damage to another persons property.
“I do wonder if the perpetrators consider the expense and inconvenience which is caused to the victims.”
Anyone with any information about this crime is asked to contact PC Rutherford at Berwick Police Station.
