Gemma Davids receives the award for visual and performing arts and media

AN adult learner from Berwick has been recognised for her inspirational attitude to her studies.

Nominated by her tutor, Gemma Davids won an award for her arts, media and publishing work throughout 2011-12 at the learner achievement awards at County Hall. A new programme of courses for January 2013 is due to be released, and Berwick Community Centre is targeting 16-18 year-olds and the unemployed. Through a variety of courses, from retail skills, travel and tourism, to an NVQ in administration and computerised accounts, they can build up skills to increase their chances of gaining interviews.
