Farnes a favourite for Attenborough
Seals on The Farne Islands.
WILDLIFE legend Sir David Attenborough has bestowed a top endorsement on the Farne Islands, by naming them as one of his favourite places.
During a live question and answer session with the renowned documentary maker on the BBC website last week, mainly covering questions on the recent hit ‘Africa’, Sir David was asked where in the UK offered the best opportunity to capture magnificent nature.
To which he replied: “The Farne Islands during the breeding season in spring would be my favourite”.
Farne Islands head ranger David Steele was delighted by Attenborough’s comments. “That’s some accolade from Sir David Attenborough and I can not disagree,” he said. “The Farne Islands are simply a stunning place for wildlife and no one will ague with that.”
