Doxford Hall hosts charity ball

STUDENTS have raised over £4,000 at a charity ball held at Doxford Hall Hotel.

The Year 10 pupils from Bedlingtonshire High School organised the event to raise awareness of local and global poverty and help send a team of students to Romania to build homes for a local community.

In return for some help from these enterprising students, Doxford Hall waived over £2,500 of its costs allowing more funds to go direct to the charity.

The money from the ball, together with funds already raised, means the pupils are now well on their way to raising the £17,000 total they need to send their team to Romania.
