Blimp plan turned down

WIND farm protesters have been thwarted in their bid to fly blimps at the height of turbines planned near Belford.

Middleton Burn Action Group wanted to put up blimps at the Belford Burn site where Energiekontor are proposing up to nine turbines, each 100m tall, and at Middleton Burn where Air Farmers are proposing a 16 turbine wind farm, each 125m tall.

However, Energiekontor responded to the request by saying that a landscape and visual assessment would be submitted as part of the planning application and photomontages will be displayed at a public exhibition.

Air Farmers has not as yet responded to the request.
