Belford in need of bungalows

A PROPOSED development in Belford which will cater for local people with special needs should include two bungalows, say the town’s parish councillors.

Approval is being sought for a group of 12 properties in Raynham Road, half of which would come under the control of social housing group ISOS and half for the commercial market.

But the only bungalows currently in the plans are for private sale.

Parish council chair Geoff O’Connell said it was essential that ISOS provided a pair of bungalows to house people who need ground-floor living space.

The parish council is also opposing a scheme to convert a disused shop at 7 High Street into a house.
