B-P Scouts plan to mark Flodden

1st Flodden B-P Scout Group will be hosting two camps and various activities during the year to commemorate the Battle of Flodden and hope to be joined by other groups.

The camps aim to give an insight into the history of the battle and will enable specific Flodden activity badges to be achieved.

The different sections will learn about the background and tactics of the battle as well as developing heritage skills through activities such as archaeological tasks and traditional crafts, hikes along some of the routes to battle, as well as learning about the general lifestyle at the time through practical tasks.

There will be the opportunity to try archery, canoe down the River Tweed and/or Till to see some of the fortifications that were captured and used during the campaign. Email 1stfloddenbpscouts@gmail.com
