Armed Forces Day details announced
ARMED Forces Day will be held in Berwick on Saturday, June 29.
Details were given by Lieutenant Debra Jerdan of the organising committee to a general meeting of Berwick Royal British Legion on Thursday.
She said it would follow a similar format to last year, starting with an event in the Guildhall at 10am.
An hour later there will be a drumhead service in St Andrew’s Wallace Green Church.
This will be followed by a parade through the town centre to the town hall where a salute will be taken.
Berwick and Crookham Legion branches will take part and Lt Jerdan said there was likely to be a large contingent of Northumberland Army Cadets.
An exhibition will be held in the Drill Hall all afternoon.
Members of Berwick Royal British Legion and those who have been in the forces are being urged to take part. It has been strongly supported since it started in 2009.
